SHOCKING NEWS;Jack Butland has given up and set to resign due to the incident
Jack Butland has lauded both John Souttar and Robin Propper as “brilliant” after what they’ve done for Rangers this season.
The Gers had quite a slow start to the 2024/25 season and dropped points against Hearts on the opening day of the Scottish Premiership and also lost 3-0 to arch-rivals Celtic in a humbling Old Firm defeat.
However, since the Old Firm loss, Philippe Clement’s men have picked up some form and find themselves on a four-game winning streak across all competitions.
Speaking to The Scottish Sun (2 October), Butland lauded his teammates and shared that they’ve filled the gap left by Conor Goldson’s £1million summer exit.
“It’s been huge, I think it’s six [clean sheets] in the last seven,” he said. “Hopefully we’re going to keep that going, it gives us a real platform to play.
“If you lose that defensive stability that we’ve got, then those games become really difficult.
“That’s something that we’ve prided ourselves on and something that we need to continue and certainly that starts again tomorrow.
“John and Robin have both been brilliant. I think for someone like Robin to come in, he’s an experienced defender.
“He’s played in some great clubs and at good levels as well. “He’s stepped in and I don’t think we’ve seen the best of him and I think there’s even more to come.
“Connor moving on has allowed John to play perhaps on his more favoured side, but I think he did fantastic for us on the left as well last year”.
Rangers to face Lyon in Europa League
The Gers’ Europa League campaign likely got off to a much better start than what many expected.
Clement’s men managed to beat Swedish side Malmo 2-0 away from home in their opening Europa League clash and managed to show what they were capable of if each player played to the best of their abilities.
