SHOCKING NEWS:Brendan Rodgers sack decision emerges as Celtic look forward appointing a better head coach…

After Tuesday night’s bruising 7-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund, Celtic’s social media team seemed to take a bit of a breather, with the club’s Twitter account falling silent for over 24 hours after its obligatory post-match details.

When the account finally stirred, it wasn’t quite what anyone expected. Instead of a rallying s cry or a message of solidarity, Celtic’s first tweet after the hammering was… an advert for new Adidas retro gear. A bit daft, right? The timing was just a little off.

While the retro kit might be decent, it was clear fans were still nursing the wounds from the Dortmund result. They softened the blow at least by putting Mikael Lustig out as the model for the new stuff!

Some were hoping for a bit of reflection, or even just an acknowledgment of the sore one taken in Germany. Instead, they got a flashback to the ‘90s with the new merch drop.

To be fair, it’s probably not the social media team’s job to fix the team’s woes on the pitch, but it’s safe to say the timing of this sales pitch left a few supporters scratching their heads.

There’s nothing wrong with a bit of retail therapy, but maybe wait until the dust settles next time, eh Celtic?

Celtic Give Dortmund Helping Hand

As for the game on Tuesday, it was a night to forget. Celtic gifted goal after goal to Dortmund who really didn’t need any encouragement to twist the knife in. It was another heavy defeat for Brendan Rodgers as Celtic manager in Europe.
