Breaking News: Everton player wants cut of transfer fee-taking action few minutes ago

Everton are set to welcome Newcastle United to Goodison Park this weekend, and the referee has now been announced for the clash.

Sean Dyche has the chance to silence any doubters he has this weekend with the opportunity to beat a Newcastle side who have started reasonably well in the Premier League.

It won’t be easy though, as Eddie Howe’s Newcastle put in an impressive display against Manchester City last time out with a 1-1 draw.

One big decision Dyche has to make is who he has at centre-back, with Michael Keane being labelled as a scapegoat in the eyes of Tony Cascarino.

Interestingly, the referee for the clash has been announced and it won’t be a face that Sean Dyche has fond memories of.

Craig Pawson announced for Everton vs Newcastle United

Craig Pawson doesn’t have the best of recent histories with Sean Dyche, as the Everton boss called his decision to not to show Ibrahima Konate a second yellow card last season ‘ridiculous’ (as per Guardian).

The Premier League have announced that he’s set to take charge for the clash between Everton and Newcastle United this weekend.

Craig Pawson is the man in the middle, with Marc Perry and Mark Scholes as his assistants. Tim Robinson will be on fourth official duty, as will Chris Kavanagh on VAR with his assistant, Harry Lennard.

Craig Pawson’s record involving Everton

Craig Pawson has refereed three games in the Premier League so far this season, with one of these being the 3-2 loss to Aston Villa at Villa Park.

He handed out five yellow cards in that game.

The Toffees’ record is an awful one when it comes to games involving Pawson, having won just five times, drawn six and lost 15 in 26 games.

Newcastle’s is pretty mixed, with 14 wins, ten games drawn and 11 lost.

Interestingly, the last three results involving these two sides have been a draw, a win for Everton and a win for Newcastle.
