Nottingham Forest rivaling Champions League club for defender who’d earn his side a record transfer fee

Nottingham Forest’s strong start to the summer could be set to continue as Evangelos Marinakis looks to add another player to the squad.

Nuno Espirito Santo has certainly been backed so far in the transfer market with five new faces landing at the City Ground.

Forest‘s pre-season efforts have now seen them complete their pre-season trip to Spain where they won one, drew one and lost one in what was a positive week in the sun fitness-wise.

The Reds will now return to action on home soil next week with a game against Villarreal in which Marinakis may well hope to have another new signing onboard by then.

Nottingham Forest keen to land in-demand centre-back

So far this summer, Forest have already added to their backline with the impressive signing of Nikola Milenkovic.

The Serbian has already slotted straight into Nuno’s side during the pre-season trip to Spain, but there have also been some exits from the City Ground.

Moussa Niakhate departed last month with Forest needing players off the books to balance their spreadsheets against PSR.

Despite having brought in a big name defender with Milenkovic, it seems the Reds are still looking to add another centre-back over the coming weeks.

According to Il Resto del Carlino, Forest are still showing an interest in the Toulouse centre-back Logan Costa.

However, they are not the only side showing an interest in the Cape Verde international with the report from Italy coming amid Bologna’s interest.

And then there is Fulham who have also been credited in the report with the 23-year-old clearly catching the eye in the Premier League.
