Breaking News:Rangers midfielder Mohamed Diomande injury update emerges v Lyon

Rangers midfielder Mohamed Diomande may miss the Europa League clash against Lyon on 3 October, according to Philippe Clement.

The Ivorian was absent from the matchday squad against Hibs on 29 September with the Belgian confirming he’s got a knock.

Asked if he would return for the Lyon game, Clement admitted that he cannot guarantee that.

He said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun: “Diomande got a knock on Thursday and is not available for today. I hope to have him back on Thursday but we will see. There are no guarantees.”

Rangers may have a few players missing the Lyon game

Along with Diomande, Ridvan Yilmaz and Danilo could be missing the game against Lyon.

This will likely mean a similar team to the one that started against Hibs over the weekend with Nicolas Raskin playing in midfield.

Clement may feel the need to start Nedim Bajrami over Ross McCausland given his impressive showing against Malmo.

Lyon’s not going to be an easy one like the Malmo game so Gers will have to be at their best to pick up the three points.
