SHOCKING NEWS;Rangers confirm the exit of target Morgan Whittaker  due to

Rangers and Burnley-linked Morgan Whittaker believes that staying at Plymouth amid interest from elsewhere was the right decision.

The 23-year-old was quoted by the Daily Record (28 September) saying that he would be open to moving to a higher level if he gets the opportunity to do so.

However, he believes he is capable of handling this situation and has found ways for it to work for him.

Whittaker said: “I have been in this situation before so I know how to handle it and I found ways it worked for me, and that’s just focusing on what I can do. I think the difference to when I was at Swansea is I knew I was going to play here.

“In my eyes it was a win-win because I love it here and I’m playing all the time, and if I got the chance to move it would be to the higher level I want to be getting to. I didn’t see it as a bad position to be in.”

Morgan Whittaker was never in the price range of Rangers this summer

Gers were in active pursuit of the wide attacker in the summer transfer window and were even willing to shell out big money to sign him.

The Daily Record reported on 19 July that a £7million bid had been tabled for the 23-year-old but it was rejected.

It was refreshing to see the Gers not giving up their pursuit as they imminently planned a second bid in the hopes that Plymouth would be convinced.

However, even that was turned down and the Ibrox outfit then appeared to cool their interest after learning the EFL club wanted close to £10million. [Football Scotland]

It remains to be seen if they return with another bid in the January transfer window, but that seems unlikely given that they’ve roped in wide attackers over the summer.
