Shocking News:Cyriel Dessers Rangers:close to strike £4.6m deal for hitman few minutes ago
Barry Ferguson has been left gushing over Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers after what he did in the 2-0 win against Malmo.
The Nigeria striker’s exploits in the opening minute saw Nedim Bajrami score an early goal to set the tempo for the visitors.
Philippe Clement’s side grew into the game and there was a fair argument made that they should have scored even more goals.
Ferguson told the Daily Record: “Forcing Malmo into a mistake by harassing the full-back inside a minute set the tone and it was a brilliant one-two off the post from Cyriel Dessers for his team-mate to score!
“Seriously, that fast start spoke volumes about their thought process. They had the belief to go and impose their game and the confidence grew throughout the side.”
Cyriel Dessers has been an unsung hero for Rangers this season
The new signings may have caught the majority of the eyeballs this season but Dessers’ displays have certainly been impressive.
He came under plenty of criticism last season despite a decent goal-scoring record and he was even linked with an exit.
A certain section of the fanbase would not have minded had he left, but he stayed and is leading the line with aplomb this season.

With Hamza Igamane still adapting to life in Scotland and Danilo out injured, Dessers has made it his responsibility to be a reliable option in the final third.
The team appear to be playing to his strengths and things seem to fall in place for Clement although bigger challenges lie ahead.
Hopefully, they can keep improving and put the pressure on Celtic who will eventually drop points in the league.
