WOSRT NIGHTMARE EVER;Two key players rejected Ange Postecoglou terms and conditions insisted leaving

Tottenham Hotspur certainly delivered a much needed comeback against Brentford in N17 on Saturday, overcoming Bryan Mbeumo’s early strike.

Ange Postecoglou opted for the same Tottenham eleven that disappointed in the North London derby, but there was a better reward for the likes of James Maddison this time around.

Rodrigo Bentancur once again played a single-pivot, meaning Maddison was dropping deep at times beside him.

However, after Maddison was criticised by Paul Merson last week, the midfielder was much more influential in forward positions against Brentford, as demonstrated by his late goal.

And it wasn’t just an improved performance for Maddison, Dominic Solanke also scored his first goal for the club and was effective when linking the play up top.

Dominic Solanke celebrated by Tottenham teammates after his first goal

Ian Wright was concerned about Solanke after Spurs lost to Arsenal, saying he was overthinking his game.

However, the former Bournemouth striker got his perfect moment in that regard – an opportunity he couldn’t miss.

Of course, after scoring his first Spurs goal, Solanke took to Instagram to celebrate, uploading a collection of photos alongside a caption of: “We keep moving.”

And as you may expect, a host of his Tottenham teammates replied with their support, as well as a lot of the striker’s former Bournemouth colleagues too.

Maddison sent an encouraging message in particular saying: “First of a helllluvaaaa lot of goals for you this season my boy.”

And among the other responses, Destiny Udogie, Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro were evidently also delighted for the new £55m signing.

Brennan Johnson also thrived agaisnt Brentford

Of course, one player who wouldn’t be able to reply to Solanke’s post would be Brennan Johnson.

Johnson deactivated some of his social media following the North London derby loss, understandably not content with the abuse he was receiving.
