Tim Sherwood predicts who will win Premier League clash… Nottingham Forest or Brighton
With Brighton only mustering a draw against Ipswich last weekend, clearly some feel that an intriguing game is on the horizon today.
Sherwood has predicted that Forest might just get something on their travels again today, fancying a share of the spoils when they take on Brighton.
He said on Sky Sports News: (21/09; 13:35): “I think it will be a draw. It’s not like me to sit on the fence, but I believe it will be a draw in this game. I think Brighton will have most of the possession, Forest, you know, on the counterattack, will have their threats. So for me 1-1 draw.”Well, it’s fair to say that Forest haven’t had the best of luck against the Seagulls over the years – with Forest actually managing just two wins at the AMEX Stadium.
Forest last won at the new stadium in 2015, when Dougie Freedman oversaw a brilliant win in one of his first games as the club’s manager.
Danny Collins, Henri Lansbury and Ben Osborn scored that say to ensure a solid day for the Reds down south.
The only other win came in 2013 when Forest came from behind to win 3-1 with Lansbury again in the goals and Darius Henderson also scoring.Since Forest were promoted back to the Premier League in 2022 it’s been a mixed bag of results against the Seagulls.
Forest drew 0-0 away and won 3-1 at home during 2022/23, whilst last season it was two defeats as the Seagulls won 3-2 on Trentside and the Reds were beaten 1-0 away.
In total, the two sides have met 41 times, with 17 of the games finishing in a win for Forest, 11 being draws and 13 going in the favour of the Seagulls.
It will be fascinating to see which way the 42nd meeting will go this afternoon.
