Breaking News:Hamza Igamane to get first Rangers start after what Cyriel Dessers has done

Rangers finally got back to winning ways against Dundee United on 15 September as they cruised to a 1-0 victory at Tannadice.

It was Tom Lawrence who scored the winner with Cyriel Dessers failing to catch the eye yet again while leading the line for Philippe Clement.

The Nigeria international did, however, manage to chip in with the only assist of the game but aside from that one moment, the attacker was back to his worst at times.

The 29-year-old has been started out of necessity in recent weeks due to the lack of depth that the Gers have in the number nine role.

This is where Hamza Igamane comes in, and, it is starting to feel like Clement should start to entrust his seven-figure summer addition to lead the line [Sebastien Denis].

Despite only having a 25-minute cameo during the win against Dundee United, Igamane was one of the brightest sparks.

Described as “magnificent” by James McFadden, the Morocco international gave Rangers fans a reason to be excited about one of their summer transfers.

The striker is still just 21 years old and although his cameo at Tannadice was short-lived, he showed that he had plenty of talent to develop as the season goes on.

The number nine role is one that the Gers have struggled with in recent times, especially in terms of injuries with Danilo being the main culprit.

Dessers managed to bag 22 goals last term but if his final-third play was stronger than what he has shown each week, he’d have no doubt had many more to his name.

The 29-year-old is beginning to frustrate fans so it makes sense to rest him and allow Igamane the chance to start the upcoming Premier Sports Cup tie against Dundee on 21 September.
