Excitement is building ahead of tonight’s Champions League opener as the Celtic fans look forward to some of Europe’s best clubs visiting Paradise.

 

The Champions League draw saw Celtic paired up against Slovan Bratislava, Young Boys, Dinamo Zagreb, Club Brugge, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Atalanta and Aston Villa.And after Zagreb and Young Boys were destroyed in their opening league games last night, Celtic will be hoping to get off to a winning start against Slovan Bratislava tonight.

 

With the game being broadcast live on TNT Sports 2 from 7:15pm tonight, Celtic will get some great exposure by taking part in the biggest competition in Europe.

 

But that is not the only platform where the Celtic fans can watch their heroes

Celtic set to feature on BBC’s Match of the Day

The BBC is set to deliver Champions League football once again after sealing a £20m deal to broadcast highlights of the UEFA tournament this season.

 

Broadcast under the Match of the Day banner, the show will be hosted on Wednesday nights by Gabby Logan and Mark Chapman with a bonus Thursday night show also being beamed out for the opening round of fixtures. And Celtic are set to feature.The show will be aired live on terrestrial television tonight as well as being available online on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website. Gary Lineker will not be involved.The Champions League’s new format is clearly driving excitement in the media and the fact that Celtic are Scotland’s only representatives will generate more interest in the Scottish champions.

 

With the first game of the tournament at Celtic Park, Brendan Rodgers, the team and the fans have an opportunity to show exactly why the Parkhead club belong amongst Europe’s elite with a win over the Slovakia
