WORST NIGHTMARE EVER;Daniel Farke confirm the replacement of Georginio Rutter due to

Daniel Farke may have been annoyed with the Leeds United board behind the scenes for failing to land a Georginio Rutter replacement, David Norris has suggested.

Farke commented [BBC Sport, 4 September] in the week following the close of transfer deadline that “the club decided not to” pursue a number 10 to replace Rutter, although did acknowledge that approach was “absolutely fine” in the press.

The Whites boss is working with a 23-man first-team squad, the smallest in this season’s Championship, and lost several of his star-studded arsenal during the window with Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray and Glen Kamara all departing Elland Road along with Rutter.

Norris, speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, said: “His comments 100 per cent mean something had gone wrong towards the end of the window. I’d assume that maybe an agreement of some sort hasn’t been stuck to.

“I think he was annoyed at the board, because it didn’t seem as if the losses of Gray, Summerville and Rutter were planned for, and they should’ve been. Maybe there wasn’t a contingency plan and, eventually, he hasn’t got what he wanted.

“They didn’t do all the business they wanted to, and that’s why I think he’s had that little dig.”

With Paraag Marathe of the 49ers at the helm but with an array of directors in cooperation with Farke over transfers, there was likely to be more than just one individual and rather an entire system with which the German was annoyed after the transfer deadline.

There are often small hints at digs in the press, but a lot can be read between the lines of Farke’s choice of words that “the club” had decided not to pursue a Rutter replacement late in the day.

The window did not end all badly – some exciting acquisitions have come in at Elland Road – but Farke still finds himself looking over his shoulder at his medical team in the hopes and prayers an injury crisis does not hit.
