Breaking News:Robin Propper names Rangers ace who has caught the eye of teammates in training

Robin Propper admits Hamza Igamane has been the Rangers player to catch his eye the most on the training pitch.

Igamane was brought to Ibrox in the summer transfer window from Moroccan outfit FAR Rabat, where he had scored 13 goals in 47 league games.

The forward is yet to be handed a start by Philippe Clement, playing a combined 37 minutes in the Scottish Premiership so far this season, but fellow new arrival Propper has given him his dues.

In quotes reported by Football Scotland [17 September], the Dutch defender said: “Hamza Igamane has come in and in training he keeps us on our toes when we’re up against him.

“Things like that help you improve. Hamza is a really good player and he has shown that already.”

The revelation that Igamane is supposedly raising levels on the training pitch in Glasgow will act as encouragement to Rangers fans, but also a degree of impatience to see more of their new man.

The 21-year-old attacker was named in the matchday squad by Clement for the first time ahead of the Old Firm, in which he entered the fray for the final 11 minutes.

He got 26 minutes in an effort to help see the victory out at Tannadice against Dundee United, and there is now a hope he will get his first start sooner rather than later.

Scott Allan was among the Scottish pundits in the past week to heap praise on Igamane, claiming he “liked the look of him” in the short time he has seen him and in fact backed Clement to put him in from the off in Sunday’s game.

Time will tell as to whether Igamane can adapt to the league and to the manager’s shape, and how he can intertwine with his attacking teammates.

In other Rangers news, senior Gers figures will not forget Dave King’s past as he bids to reclaim his position as chairman.
