Connor Goldson rejected the terms and insisted leaving fews minutes ago..
David Edgar has admitted that he believes Rangers are looking for a fee in the region of £1million before selling Connor Goldson this summer.
The English centre-back has been linked with a move away from Glasgow this summer, with reports suggesting he is on the verge of agreeing a deal with Aris Limassol [Scottish Sun, 24 July].
Although the Light Blues’ exact valuation of the 32-year-old hasn’t yet been revealed, Heart and Hand host Edgar believes Philippe Clement’s side will be holding out for a seven-figure fee before sanctioning a sale.
Speaking on the Heart and Hand Patreon page (24 July, 10:20) he said: “I was asked in terms of a fee about this, it’s not 100 per cent confirmed but I think Rangers are looking for around about £1million for Connor Goldson.
“His age and his wage are some of the reasons for the consideration of that and three certain clubs are said to be interested in him.
“One is Aris, one is thought to be Birmingham City themselves.”
Will Connor Goldson exit Rangers amid Aris Limassol transfer speculation?
Some Rangers supporters would have expected the Gers to earn a big-money fee for both James Tavernier and Goldson this summer, but that doesn’t appear to be the case at this stage of the window.
The most important thing for the Light Blues will be getting their wages off of the bill each month, rather than pocketing a huge fee upfront, as Clement looks to add to his squad ahead of the new Premiership campaign.
Neither Tavernier nor Goldson have been in great form in recent months and that would have only lowered their valuation heading into the transfer window, especially as they head towards the back end of their careers.
There will always be some that argue Clement’s side should be holding out for a bigger fee for two of their more important players over the last few seasons.
