WORST NIGHTMARE EVER;Leeds confirm the exit of Liam Cooper finally

49ers investor Larry Nance Jr has sent Liam Cooper a message after his Leeds United exit was confirmed.

The Whites announced on Wednesday 11 September that the 33-year-old was leaving Elland Road after 10 years with a move to CSKA Sofia now on the cards [Beren Cross, 9 September].

The former captain shared a message to supporters via Instagram to say goodbye, which saw shareholder Nance Jr react in the comments.

He wrote: “Absolute LEGEND! Always have a fan in me.”

It has been a long time coming but the former Scotland international finally has some closure on the future of his career after confirming his Elland Road exit.

This has come after a summer transfer window where it remained unclear whether or not he would remain at the club.

It has to be said with Joe Rodon coming back on a permanent deal and Max Wober returning from his loan spell, Cooper was somewhat surplus to requirements.

That isn’t to say that he isn’t an icon for the Whites given his part as captain in the promotion-winning season under Marcelo Bielsa.

It is clear that there is a lot of appreciation there for the defender, with former teammates to even club investors wishing him the best for the future.

Considering he hasn’t played this season, it may not have an effect on Daniel Farke’s squad but may leave a hole in the club to lose such a figure.
