Striker Hwang Ui-jo has completed a permanent move from Nottingham Forest to Turkish side Alanyaspor.

The forward has penned a one-year deal with the Super Lig outfit. He leaves the Reds having never played a competitive game for the first-team.

Alanyaspor said on their website: “Our club has signed a one-year contract with South Korean centre forward Ui-jo Hwang, who played on loan for our team last season. Welcome back to our family, Hwang.”

Hwang was part of Forest’s recruitment drive in the summer of 2022 following the club’s promotion to the Premier League. He joined from Bordeaux for a reported £4 million.

After putting pen to paper for the Reds, he immediately went on loan to fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned side Olympiacos. Unable to make an impact in Greece, he spent the second half of the 2022/23 campaign with FC Seoul.

Last term, he spent time on loan at Norwich City where he scored three goals in 18 appearances, and then Alanyaspor. He made eight league appearances and scored one goal during his previous stint in Turkey, and now returns on a permanent basis.
