Breaking News:Hearts slammed over Rangers dispute as Andrew McKinlay eyed as James Bisgrove replacement
UK
Rangers need “good people behind the scenes” to avoid issues like the Ibrox building work saga, says Derek Ferguson.
The Daily Record reported on 23 June that the Light Blues are considering Hearts chief Andrew McKinlay as replacement for the sudden departure of CEO James Bisgrove to Saudi Arabia.
Ferguson has criticised McKinlay’s Jambos as “out of order” for their complaints directed at the Gers Women earlier this year for celebrating their Sky Sports Cup win in the Tynecastle dressing room, suggesting the issue could be a hurdle to appointing the executive at Ibrox.
Hearts issued an outraged statement on 25 March claiming the stadium had been “defaced” by a mat containing the Rangers logo being placed on the floor of the dressing room for the final against Partick Thistle.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News he said: “It was the women’s game wasn’t it and that complaint that went in, that could [be an issue], well we don’t know, we don’t know what happens once people meet, get together, they create a relationship.
“But I think Hearts were out of order because you’ve let the ground out for a final, you put a few things [out] just to make the players have that feel-good factor.
“I don’t look at too much of what goes on behind the scenes. We’ve seen the boy [Alan] Burrows was quite high profile at Motherwell and goes to Aberdeen and obviously he’s had a couple of things to say.
“These guys, they’re important, because it’s important that you’ve got good people behind the scenes doing their job properly, and clearly we have not had that with whoever’s been organising the reconstruction of a part of the stadium.“
Hearts upset over Rangers Women celebrations at Tynecastle
The Jam Tarts’ response to the Sky Sports Cup win was overblown and unnecessary but how much it was about playing to their fanbase only they will know.
