GOOD NEWS:Brendan Rodgers Confirmed the return of former key player after the international break…

Celtic have had their injury problems in recent years. The Hoops have done a great job of continuously delivering results, even when they have had key players missing. We are at the start of the 24/25 campaign and Brendan Rodgers’ side have made a flying start, already opening up a five-point lead over the Rangers in the league after winning the weekend’s Glasgow Derby by a 3-0 margin and the scoreline could have easily been more one-sided.

But Rodgers has something to think about when it comes to his side’s fitness as well. Now, it looks like there is uncertainty around the situation of two players who featured at the weekend against the Rangers, James Forrest and Greg Taylor.

Both pulled out of the recent Scotland national team camp. The reason was unclear at the beginning but it looks like it was fitness-relation.

There has been a lot of talk about Che Adams recently. As reported by The Scotsman, three other players have pulled out due to injury, including Taylor and Forrest. The Scotland national team boss said:

“The club informed us on Saturday morning that he’d picked up a knock in the game.

“The conversation we then had with Che is: Does he come across to be assessed and sent back to Italy?

“There was no point. So that’s why he misses out. By the same token, the two boys from Celtic who played at the weekend (v Rangers) came in on Sunday night, got assessed by our medics and were sent home. It’s easy because they’re in Glasgow. So no big drama on that one.”

The extent of the issues that Taylor and Forrest are dealing with at the moment is not clear. It remains to be seen how the situation develops. But considering that there had been no news regarding it immediately following the Glasgow Derby, one would hope, and guess, that it is not serious.

Taylor is still the starting left-back for Celtic and performing at a high level. He deserves more credit than he often gets.
