Breaking News:Sam Lammers in £4.2m transfer talks as Rangers look to kick-start rebuild

Rangers transfer window has turned into London buses. It has been eerily quiet, now there are players leaving and arriving all over the place.

Vaclav Cerny is said to be on his way, putting pen to paper on a loan move from Wolfsburg with Connor Goldson looks set to leave and was pulled from the squad against Birmingham City.

The arrival of Cerny seems to coincide with the departure of Sam Lammers with Twente reviving their initial interest in the Rangers forward and Sky Sports reporting the details of the proposed deal.

Twente find the money to make move for Sam Lammers

Only last week a Dutch journalist was asked about the odds of the Eredivisie side making a bid for the forward:

“Of course, this is being discussed at FC Twente”, Leon Ten Voorde said on Voetbalpraat (via Utrechtfans).

“He is also a very interesting player. However, he does cost a lot of money.

“I think that he could be more expensive than Wout Weghorst, also in salary.

“FC Twente cannot afford that.

“FC Utrecht pay, at the top, still more to players than FC Twente.”

According to Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports, Sam Lammers is the subject of a permanent move to Twente and that a deal could be close.

“FC Twente are in talks with Rangers over a deal to sign forward Sam Lammers in a deal worth over £2m.

“The 27-year-old joined last summer for around £3.5m but spent the second half of the season on loan at FC Utrecht.”

Italian journalist Andrea Losapio, who broke the Twente deal news, has claimed that the fee being paid is double of that mentioned by Joseph – it was also widely reported that Rangers paid £3m for Lammers:

“More on the Sam Lammers deal.

“Rangers will sell him with an offer in the area of €5m (£4.2m) then Lammers will sign a 3 years contract with Twente.”
