The September international break remains in full swing as the wait goes on for United’s return to Premier League action.

Erik ten Hag’s side are not back in top-flight action until September 14 away at Southampton, and that will be followed by United’s start to their Europa League campaign.

Away from the pitch, recent days have seen plenty of speculation surrounding Ten Hag’s future as manager following Sunday’s defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford.

In terms of transfers, Antony has been heavily linked with a move away from United over the last 24 hours with former Reds manager Jose Mourinho reportedly interested in signing the winger on loan for Fenerbahce.

Casemiro’s future has also been the subject of speculation, with tentative reports linking the midfielder with a move to Turkey with Galatasaray, although other outlets have stated a deal would be unlikely at this stage.

Even though the summer transfer window is closed, United are still being linked with signing new players. Adrien Rabiot continues to be credited in some reports as a target, with the midfielder still a free agent after leaving Juventus at the end of last season.

De Gea’s response to Juan Mata’s move

David De Gea has given his response to former teammate Juan Mata completing a move to Australisn club Western Sydney Wanderers.

The midfielder had been a free agent after leaving Japanese side Vissel Kobe. But he will no play in the upcoming season in the Australian A League.

And that news has pleased De Gea, who wrote in the comments section of the announcement: “The best left foot is back.”

Summer signing Matthijs De Ligt has outlined how moving to the club this summer was an ‘easy’ decision to make. The defender signed a five year contract last month in a deal that cost £38.4m with a potential extra £4.2m in add-ons.

The 25-year-old has featured in all three Premier League games so far this season, starting for the first time n last weekend’s defeat against Liverpool.
