I WILL NOT PLAY AGAIN;Rangers key player has decided to quit due to…

James Tavernier was confronted by furious Rangers fans outside Ibrox after their 3-0 defeat to Celtic – in a moment branded “f***ng embarrassing” by Bob Malcolm.

Tavernier had a poor game at Parkhead as he and his teammates were swept aside by their rivals to fall five points behind them after a difficult early period of the season. The club captain was branded a “loser” by one punter in particular outside their own stadium as he made his feelings clear.

And Malcolm – who played for Gers for seven years and against the Hoops numerous times – blasted the supporter for his actions as he insisted all fans are “hurting”.

Taking to social media, Malcolm wrote: “Whoever this is is f***ing embarrassing we’re all hurting but to go to stadium and give this abuse to captain no matter your opinion on him is s***.”

Tavernier was not the only man to be confronted by angry supporters as manager Philippe Clement also copped flak for his role in the defeat in Glasgow. The boss was captured on camera taking abuse while attempting to fight his corner with match stats.

Daizen Maeda, Kyogo and Callum McGregor were the goal scorers on the day as Brendan Rodgers’ side comfortably brushed past their foes.
