Rangers best player has declared his career is over due to…

Philippe Clement admits Rangers playmaker Ianis Hagi’s situation at the club will remain the same after the transfer window shut on Friday.

Hagi has been in the wilderness at Rangers since returning from Euro 2024 with Romania in July which came after a loan spell with Deportivo Alaves last season.

Clement repeatedly stressed over the summer that Hagi wasn’t going to be part of his plans for 2024/25 and that he should look out for a new club after talks with his representatives.

Hagi has been performing well for the B-team across the last few weeks and was forced to clear up the fact that he has never asked to leave Rangers, unlike Todd Cantwell.

Hagi was linked with a move to Rapid Bucharest and FCSB late in the window but a switch to either did not come to fruition. With the transfer window now closed, what exactly is next for the 25-year-old?

Clement on Hagi’s future at Rangers

Clement was asked what Hagi’s situation looks like now. The Belgian responded at his pre-Old Firm press conference on Saturday: “No, I cannot say anything now because there is not really a development for the moment.”

“We spoke about that months ago, really open and honest with his agent also that we don’t see him to become the next No10 for Rangers for the next couple of years and to look out for other opportunities.

“So that story stays the same and for sure, with (Nedim) Bajrami now in the building, you have this situation.”

Could he be reintegrated back into the Rangers first-team? Clement replied: “We will see those things in the future, I will not say anymore about that now.”

What Hagi said about his situation at Rangers

As mentioned, Hagi took to his own social media to clear up what he was feeling just days before the summer window closed.
