Nottingham Forest manager is cleared to pursue a significant transfer target…

West Ham United midfielder James Ward-Prowse is said to have become a last-minute transfer target for Nottingham Forest, who await a final decision on deadline day.

Having conducted key business before the season’s start before ending the window unable to get deals for two striker targets over the line, Forest remain opportunistic heading rapidly towards tonight’s deadline.

As things stand they have roughly 16 hours to confirm any more signings, the next of which is believed could arrive from East London. That is based on word from Fabrizio Romano, who states that Ward-Prowse has piqued the club’s interest in case he becomes available at short notice.

The Englishman, who has made 11 appearances for his country, joined the Hammers last summer after the relegation of his boyhood club, Southampton. He had spent 11 years in the top-flight with the Saints, and in total has now made 381 appearances in the competition.

His maiden campaign at the London Stadium was under David Moyes, who handed him 37 league outings. But now under the stewardship of Julen Lopetegui, minutes could be harder to come buy based on the fact he has only been afforded one 17-minute cameo as a substitute so far in the new season after new signings were made.
His set-piece-taking attributes are enough to put any Premier League club on alert. The exciting update clarifies that no progress has been made towards the transfer, only that the club’s interest stands. They ultimately await their rivals’ decision as to whether they put the 29-year-old on the market three years before his contract’s end.
