John Textor wants to beat Arsenal and sign £38m ace for Everton

John Textor wants to beat Arsenal and sign £38m ace for Everton

Everton could make a late addition to Sean Dyche’s squad on the recommendation of prospective owner John Textor.

The Toffees have made five new signings so far this summer but their ongoing financial trouble has made it difficult for Dyche to make any late moves.

Farhad Moshiri is still in the process of selling Everton after failing to get a deal over the line with both 777 Partners and Dan Friedkin.

There are now fresh talks ongoing with John Textor, but he must first sell his stake in Crystal Palace before he can pursue a takeover deal with Everton.

However, Textor could still complete £40m worth of signings at Everton before he has even taken over the club.

Everton make move for Ernest Nuamah

TBR Football understands that Everton have held talks with Lyon winger Ernest Nuamah.

Everton are close to landing Lyon midfielder Orel Mangala and they could now complete a double raid on the French outfit.

Lyon is owned by Textor, and Nuamah joined the Ligue 1 club from Textor-owned RWD Molenbeek.

It is understood that Textor put Nuamah forward as an option to Everton as a late signing ahead of his potential takeover deal.

Everton can beat Arsenal to Ernest Nuamah

Everton are in the race for Nuamah but they are expected to face competition from Premier League rivals.

Fulham have shown an interest in the Ghana international, while Arsenal have also monitored Nuamah.

It is understood that Lyon want to keep hold of Nuamah but could consider offers in the region of €45m (£38million).

First, Textor must sell his Eagle Football Group’s 45 per cent stake in Crystal Palace in order to satisfy the Premier League’s rules on dual ownership.
