SO SAD;Todd Cantwell set to be sold for bargain as Rangers transfer twist revealed
John Eustace admitted Blackburn Rovers have discussed a deal for Todd Cantwell and expects more signings before the transfer deadline.
A goalkeeper, central midfielder and wide player are the primary targets for Rovers. Plenty of players have been linked and deals now need to be struck and finalised in the final few days.
One player of interest is Rangers playmaker Todd Cantwell. Eustace confirmed he is one, of a few on their shortlist.
“I certainly am very hopeful, you can see tonight we still short in a few areas,” he told The Lancashire Telegraph.
“Hopefully, the club can bring in the right players to give that competition for places. The recruitment team are working very hard.
“Todd is someone that has been spoken about. He is a Rangers player and I don’t like to talk about players at other clubs too much.
“Todd is a Rangers player, he’s a very good player but we’ve got five of six other good players on the list. We want to bring in good players to the club.”
Owen Beck was confirmed as Rovers player pre-match, joining on loan from Liverpool for the season. He will provide competition for Harry Pickering, who was forced off injured against Blackpool.
“He’s coming off the back of a very good loan at Dundee last year, especially in the first half of the season before he got an injury.
“He will be an exciting player for us. He’s got very good technical ability, he can get into the final third and has great delivery.
“We’re pleased that he’s chosen to come and join us. He’s come in to give competition for places. Harry has been playing well but it was a game too much tonight and he picked up a knock.
