Sad News : three key players won’t play for Leeds again due to

Leeds United have made contact with Roland Sallai and are now holding talks over a switch to Elland Road, according to Sky Sports Germany.

The outlet reported via their website on 27 August that the 27-year-old could leave Freiberg before the transfer window closes and the Whites have also made their interest known to the Bundesliga side.

While Leeds are in discussions with the Hungarian international’s camp the outcome is said to still be “open” and there is also transfer competition from an unnamed Ligue 1 club.

Sky Sports’ Philipp Hinze added via X that Sallai is “open” to a new challenge this summer.

Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri reported earlier on 27 August that the Whites are “pushing hard” to get the deal done for £7.6million.

Leeds United signed Largie Ramazani and close to Manor Solomon

It has been left too late for comfort but after the squad was shorn of its two top attacking stars the club has finally responded with reinforcements.

Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter will take a lot of replacing but a permanent deal for Largie Ramazani has already been sealed, and Manor Solomon is set to complete a loan from Tottenham imminently [David Ornstein, 26 August].

The Whites will need to be wary of the French club who are also in the running for Sallai after the Solomon deal was subject to a hijack from a Dutch club [Fabrizio Romano, 27 August].

The Freiberg attacker has less than a year left on his deal so, despite being a 52-cap international, looks like he could be available for a knock-down fee.

Daniel Farke will be spoilt for choice in wide areas if all three arrive, but there is still a midfielder, full-back and potentially a striker to bring in as well, with little time left to complete everything.
