Breaking News:Nottingham Forest €20m transfer ramped up as priority revealed
Turkish club Fenerbahce have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Nottingham Forest midfielder Ibrahim Sangare.
According to reports from Turkish outlet Aspor , Jose Mourinho’s side has made the player their priority transfer target after he struggled last season at Forest.
It is claimed the Yellow Canaries have bid €20m for the midfielder’s services but it is still unclear whether the Premier League side are willing to accept the terms – the player arrived from PSV Eindhoven for a fee of £30m last summer.
Steve Cooper handed the player most of his minutes last season before he headed to the AFCON where he represented Ivory Coast. He returned before picking up a knee injury and an ‘illness’ according to Nuno Espirito Santo. Speaking about Sangare in December, he said: “He [Sangare] is not in his best moment yet. He was seriously ill, he lost weight and it is his groin. But he is definitely an option for us.”
Since the turn of the year he has struggled to secure a first-team spot with the Portuguese manager opting for Danilo or Nicolas Dominguez in the holding midfielder position. With the arrival of Elliot Anderson from Newcastle United earlier in the window, Sangare looks to have fallen further down the pecking order.
