Breaking News:Celtic make almost £200m in transfer sales as staggering gulf with Rangers laid bare

Matt O’Riley’s sale to Brighton this week highlighted Celtic’s excellent transfer model in action.

The Hoops brought the Dane to Parkhead back in 2022 for around £1.5million with MK Dons resigned to losing their key man at the time for a paltry sum. Fast-forward two brilliant seasons and the £30m Celts received for their playmaker was a record-breaking high which, added to the club coffers, will only serve to further strengthen the Scottish champions.

The midfielder, 23, is not the only man to move on from Celtic in recent years for mega money with Kieran Tierney, Odsonne Edouard and Jota all among the alum to rake in the big bucks.

Statistics from Transfermarkt has shown tonight that almost £200million in transfer revenue has been brought into Celtic over the past 10 seasons which is remarkable reading.

The information shows £196.35m in sales has come in which dwarfs rivals Rangers and proves the significant gulf between the two clubs. In comparison, the Light Blues have raked in £60.4m from sales across the same timescale.

Aberdeen, Hibs and Motherwell make up the top five clubs in Scotland’s Premiership in terms of money incoming from transfers in that time.
