Breaking News:Rangers transfer news as new Johnly Yfeko update emerges
Rangers defender Johnly Yfeko has joined Exter City on a season-long loan with an option to buy, the EFL League One club announced.
Exter issued a statement on their official website on 23 July that they have signed the 21-year-old, making him their seventh arrival of the summer.
Yfeko has made one senior appearance for Gers in a 2-1 victory over Greenock Morton in the Viaplay Cup in August 2023.
Rangers may want to gauge Johnly Yfeko’s progress next summer
This loan move is crucial for Gers as it provides Yfeko with valuable first-team experience in the EFL allowing him to develop his skills and adapt to a more competitive environment.
This opportunity will be instrumental in his growth as a professional footballer, potentially preparing him for a more prominent role at Ibrox in the future if he stays, after penning an extension until 2026.
After 12 months, Rangers can expect the defender to return with a more refined understanding of the game, having faced a variety of challenges in League One and if Exeter do not exercise the option to buy.
His exposure to different playing styles and tactics will enhance his adaptability and decision-making on the pitch.
Additionally, the physical and mental demands of regular first-team football should improve his overall fitness and resilience.
If Yfeko performs well during his loan spell, he could return to Glasgow as a more confident and well-rounded player, ready to compete for a starting position in the first team.
In other Rangers news, the club are now set to make a bid to seal summer transfer No.7 with James Tavernier’s sale funding it.
