Everton ready to sign Kieran Trippier if Dominic Calvert-Lewin makes transfer exit to Newcastle
Dominic Calvert-Lewin moving to Newcastle would help facilitate Everton signing Kieran Trippier, according to TBR Football.
The outlet reported via their website on 25 August that sources have said the two deals would be deemed separate but the England defender heading to Goodison can be offset by the Toffees striker heading in the opposite direction.
A permanent deal for Trippier, 33, would “suit” Everton as they only have one loan slot left which they could use elsewhere, but cost remains an issue.
Both players have reportedly indicated they want to leave their current clubs despite each still being wanted, with Newcastle now considering a bid for Calvert-Lewin before the deadline which would open the door to a double-deal.

There are still so many moving parts for the Toffees in the final days of the window that there is very little certainty to go around.
Calvert-Lewin’s situation has been a big variable all summer due to the fact that he has rejected the offer a new deal, so the club have to be prepared to replace him in a very small window of time if a decent offer is put on the table.
Sean Dyche is said to be desperate to keep him [TEAMtalk, 20 August], but two uninspiring performances to start the season have put the manager under pressure already and he could be more inclined to make big moves in the final days.
Armando Broja appears to be arriving back on the market as his Ipswich move collapses [Jacob Steinberg, 24 August] and has been reported as keen to head to Goodison [i News, 12 August] so would be the obvious option to replace Calvert-Lewin, although Chelsea teammate David Datro-Fofana has also emerged as a possibility [TEAMtalk, 26 August].
