I will not play again: Leeds key player has decided to quit due to…
Leeds United will not have the option to make Manor Solomon’s temporary deal permanent, according to David Ornstein.
The Athletic journalist reported via the outlet’s website on 24 August that the Tottenham attacker’s proposed switch to Elland Road will be a straight loan move.
The 25-year-old is set for a Whites medical the same day as he looks set to become the sixth summer signing at Elland Road, following Largie Ramazani’s purchase from Almeria.
Joe Rodon has also returned from Tottenham, while Joe Rothwell, Jayden Bogle and Alex Cairns are the sum of the business so far.
Leeds are expected to pay a significant part of Solomon’s wages [Yorkshire Evening Post, 23 August] after the Israeli rejected an offer to move to Getafe in La Liga [Fabrizio Romano, 23 August].
Leeds United set for Spurs loan after Largie Ramazani signing
Solomon has barely featured for his parent club yet but if there is to be no option included in the deal they must have an eye on the loan move to Leeds kickstarting his Spurs career, where he has another four years on his contract.
Rodon also moved from North London to West Yorkshire on a loan without an option last season and the Welshman has since completed a permanent move anyway.
So should Solomon complete this loan switch and prove to be a major hit there could be a chance of him remaining long-term anyway.
He will need to bounce back from his disruption to his Shakhtar Donestk career caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, then two years in England characterised by injury and a lack of action.
Solomon has only made 30 appearances in total across the past two campaigns, after a reasonably-successful loan with Fulham gave way to just six Spurs appearances.
