Rabbi Matondo set to leave Rangers for Blackburn Rovers
It will come as no surprise that the winger looks set to depart the Light Blues after spending the summer window being linked away.
Matondo is yet to feature from the start in the Scottish Premiership this season, featuring from the beginning just once against St Johnstone.
He did register an assist in that appearance for Cyriel Dessers’ opener but his output at Ibrox has been frustratingly few and far between.
In over 60 appearances for the Gers, the former Schalke man has only scored six goals [FotMob] which isn’t good enough for a side who desperately needs to challenge Celtic more closely.
Ironically, the 23-year-old’s crowning moment for the club came in the Old Firm as his top-class strike helped to secure a 3-3 draw.
With the emergence of Ross McCausland and the signing of Vaclav Cerny, there are going to be limited chances for Matondo under Philippe Clement.
