GOOD NEWS:Nottingham Forest have finally signed their dream player few minutes ago
Nottingham Forest are stepping up their efforts to sign players before the transfer window closes and a striker is firmly on the list.
Both Eddie Nketiah and Santiago Gimenez are subject of interest from Forest, with the club having bids in for the two players at the moment.
However, there will be some outgoings to take place on Trentside before the window closes in just over a week.
Joe Worrall is nearing a move to Burnley, with Josh Bowler and Matt Turner also likely to leave before things draw to a close.
There might be a somewhat shocking departure, however, and perhaps supporters should brace themselves for a frantic final week or so to the transfer window.
Journalist doesn’t rule out Taiwo Awoniyi leaving Nottingham Forest
Ahead of the window slamming shut we spoke with HITC Football’s transfer expert Graeme Bailey who has some intriguing news for us.
Our chat turned towards the striker situation and Awoniyi’s future at the club should Forest press ahead with a striker.
There seems to be a cheeky fan perception that Forest might add both strikers to their ranks this summer and possibly let Awoniyi leave.
It’s a notion that isn’t completely dismissed by Bailey as he predicts what might happen before the end of the window.
He exclusively told Nottingham Forest News: “I wouldn’t rule it out. (Taiwo) Awoniyi isn’t 100% settled which he revealed last year. I refuse to rule anything out at the minute. I get told about so many things and with that, you couldn’t knock it on the head and say no but at the moment I don’t have the ability to do that.
“It’s possible and if Forest lost him would they need two strikers? Quite possibly, I think you would need two if you lost Awoniyi as well, so yeah, never say never.”
