Burnley PSR update as Leeds United want to seal Manuel Benson transfer

Burnley could sell Manuel Benson to Leeds United to ease PSR concerns, according to Joe Donnohue.

The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist reported on 20 August that the Whites have maintained “genuine” interest in the 27-year-old.

They could now have been handed a boost as the Clarets look to offload the attacker.

However, the “divisional rival tag” is unlikely to help Daniel Farke’s side to complete a deal for the Angola international.

Leeds United still want Manuel Benson

There is no doubt that Leeds are in desperate need of new options in attacking areas after the summer transfer window they’ve had.

Farke has lost key player after key player in recent months which has only made his side worse.

Losing Archie Gray was a blow which has only been made worse with Crysencio Summerville and then Georginio Rutter following him out the exit door.

Now the Whites have very limited options in forward areas which have reared their head in a poor start to the season in the Championship and League Cup.

Benson could help ease these concerns given that he has the ability to play in a variety of positions across the front line when needed.

It will be interesting to see how Burnley and Leeds form a deal for the former Royal Antwerp star given their league rivalry.

This signing would be one small step towards having a positive window in terms of incomings which seems a long way away now.
