BEST SIGNING EVER;Luton united has signed their dream player finally

There is no denying that since the departures of Lokonga and Barkley, our midfield has looked a little lightweight in the opening two fixtures.

Of course, matters are made worse by the continued absence of Marvelous Nakamba, through injury.

With the closure of the summer transfer window, just over a week ago, rumours are circulating, in the main stream media, including Inside Futbol that the Hatters recruitment team are interested in bringing a defensive midfielder to the club from the Bundesliga.

The player linked with a move to Kenilworth Road is Tom Krauss who is currently on the books of Mainz.

At 23-years-of-age, Krauss appears to have fallen out of favour at Mainz after a change in the managerial hot-seat, despite making 29 Bundesliga appearances last season.

Krauss has, on the international front, played for Germany at every level except as a full international.

With regards to a transfer fee, no doubt, if the deal goes through, it will be announced as an ‘undisclosed’ fee but it is worth bearing in mind that Mainz paid circa 5 million euros or the player last summer.

Here at Vital Luton Town we’ll keep a watch out to see if this deal can be completed ahead of the forthcoming game against Preston North End, this Saturday.

Luton Town are being linked with a swoop for the Bundesliga man between now and the end of the transfer window. They have one point on the board from their first two games of the new Championship following their loss at home to Burnley and draw away at Portsmouth.

Krauss, 23, is under contract at Mainz until the summer of 2028 but his future is up in the air right now with the German top flight outfit. He joined them in July last year and has since made 31 appearances in all competitions, 29 of which have come in the league, and he has chipped in with a single goal.
