Leeds United race to sign new talent as Daniel Farke urges quick action

With Georginio Rutter set to leave, Leeds United are now left with fewer senior options than ever. The Whites even visited The Hawthorns with two youth team players.

As The 49ers were left with no options, academy players Charlie Crew and James Boluwatife Debayo joined the first team for the away clash. The promotion favourites going into the season with such squad depth is truly amazing.

The club’s player problem is obviously translating to the pitch. Leeds United is yet to win a single game this season with three matches already concluded.

An in-hand opener against Portsmouth ended in a 3-3 draw at Elland Road. Defensive instability and a lack of goal-scoring threat was the theme for The 49ers.

The second game of the campaign was an EFL Cup loss to Middlesbrough. Leeds lost 0-3 at Elland Road as three goals in quick successions were too overwhelming for The Whites.

The third game against West Bromwich Albion was away from home. United held on to a 0-0 draw showcasing defensive stability but with the goalscoring problem still there.

Also, Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray and Glen Kamara are yet to see replacements at Elland Road.

With promotion on the line, Daniel Farke has called in for quick signings as the transfer window deadline inches closer.

“I stick to what I said. We need cover at full-back, a midfielder, a winger or offensive player and after Georgi a second offensive player. They need the full package in all areas. You are not a top player unless you deliver goals and assists.”

“They have to fit personality and mentality and be affordable. Not easy to attract this quality. Easier in the PL. This is what we work on. I know our key people are working hard behind the scenes.”
