GOOD NEWS:Mark Pope confirm the return of former key player few minutes ago
The Kentucky Wildcats recently had the opportunity to go up against La Familia, Kentucky’s alumni team in The Basketball Tournament.
Since then, the La Familia team made an appearance on Kentucky Sports Radio and were asked for their opinions on Mark Pope’s squad.
Here is a rundown of what some of the players had to say.
“I think they can shoot the ball really well,” Eric Bledsoe said. “They can defend. I think we’re going to see some really bright spots from them. Obviously, they’re going to get better each and every game, and there’s a process, so I’m very excited about it.”
“It was competitive,” Aaron Harrison said. “It was exciting on both ends. I was excited for our team and the current team. It was exciting. The fans have a lot to be excited about.”
“Good size,” Andrew Harrison said. “Definitely have the energy. They have great energy. Just in the building, they have great energy starting with the staff to the players. Everyone wants to learn. No one backed down. They’ve got some work to do but at the same time, they feel like a pretty good team. I’m excited for them and I hope Coach [Pope] does well for sure.”
The current Kentucky Basketball team reportedly beat La Familia in a scrimmage, thanks to the Cats’ strong overall shooting and a big night from Jaxson Robinson, the most recent player to commit to Coach Pope’s program.
It’s still early, but you have to like what’s come out of the Joe Craft Center thus far regarding Pope’s first team. A lot of positives coming from former players that know what it is like to play on this stage.
As for La Familia, they easily won their first two games in TBT and now await Herd That, a team largely compromised of former Marshall players, for a Tuesday night showdown. The game will air Tuesday at 9 pm ET on Fox Sports 1.
