Celtic are in the market for a new left-back to help provide competition for Greg Taylor who remains their only senior option in the position.

Celtic keen on a deal for Liverpool youngster Owen Beck

Liverpool have set an asking price of £3million for the player who has only made three senior appearances for his boyhood club.

Beck impressed on loan at Dundee last season, making 28 appearances, scoring twice, and providing four assists during his time at the club.

Beck is regarded as a player with huge potential by Celtic and would help lessen the burden on Taylor after missing out on Wolves defender Hugo Bueno who joined Feyenoord on loan.

Football Insider also revealed (August 10) that the Glasgow club had submitted a loan bid for the Spain Under-21s international but lost out to the Eredivisie club.

In other news, Celtic fans rage at confirmed news after official Rangers statement.

Celtic and Rangers fans have been left raging after it was confirmed neither side would be handed an away allocation for the first two Old Firm clashes of the season.

This came after Celtic withdrew from the original agreement which was set to see a 5 per cent away allocation at each venue starting this season.

However, their withdrawal came after Rangers had failed to make the necessary safety precautions available for Hoops fans to visit Ibrox.

Talks were held with police and with Glasgow council chiefs before they came to the decision – but fans on both sides have been left raging by the development.
