SHOCKING NEWS:Philippe Clement Confirmed the departure of two key players due to…

Rangers are in the middle of a summer rebuild as the club look to improve from last year’s singular cup-winning season.

The Ibrox side last held the title aloft in the 2020/21 campaign and boss Philippe Clement will be aiming to bring success back in style this year. The Gers have already made several signings during the transfer window and will be looking to add more quality to their thinning-out squad.

Rangers will also take part in the Champions League qualifiers with a third-round tie against either Dynamo Kyiv or FK Partizan Belgrade in August. While a win is the aim for Clement’s side, the fans will be hoping that at the very least the club will drop into the Europa League group stage. With all of this in mind, Record Sport has looked at what a dream transfer window is for Clement’s side as they aim for a return to the top of the totem pole in Scotland.

Clement has already made seven signings so far this summer; Mohamed Diomande, Jefte, Oscar Cortes, Clinton Nsiala, Liam Kelly, Connor Barron and Hamza Igamane. While Kelly and Barron have played in the Scottish Premiership before, the other four signings are fresh prospects that require time to bed in at the club.

Jefte moved from Fluminense to Ibrox for a £670,000 fee that will see the left-back stay at the club for four years. Cortes initially came to Glasgow on loan in January but an injury kept him off the pitch. Rangers then decided to sign the winger to another one-year loan deal with an obligation to buy next summer – meaning he will be at Ibrox through to 2029.

Nsiala moved from AC Milan’s under-19 side to Rangers in a free transfer that is set to develop the 20-year-old centre-half. Igamane joined the Gers at the beginning of July in a £1.9million deal, subject to international clearance, and is another prospect for Clement to work on during the season.

Barron and Kelly were both starters for Scottish sides Aberdeen and Motherwell respectively, and joined on free transfers in the summer. The pair have already made appearances in pre-season games and look to be part of the first team to challenge for the title this year.

Diomande was also a familiar face in Scotland as he joined Rangers on loan in the January window, before making his move permanent in the summer for a fee of £4.2m.

In terms of exits, Turkish club Trabzonspor have scooped up left-back Borna Barisic and midfielder John Lundstram as free agents after they left Ibrox this summer. Goalkeeper Robby McCrorie headed to Ayrshire to sign for Kilmarnock and youngster Kieran Wright has been loaned out to Scottish Championship side Airdrieonians for the 2024/25 campaign.

Ryan Jack, Jon McLaughlin and Kemar Roofe have all also left Rangers at the expiration of their contracts and are yet to sign for another club.
