HEARTBREAKING REPORT:Brendan Rodgers loses a key player to the transfer window due to

Adam Idah’s move to Celtic from Norwich City was finally completed yesterday after the club made the big announcement yesterday.

Both clubs agreed on a £9.5m deal for Idah that will make him one of Celtic’s most expensive transfers ever in their history.

The Republic of Ireland international was a huge success during his short loan spell at Celtic last season and helped fire Brendan Rodgers’ side to a league and Scottish Cup double.

Now that Rodgers has finally got his man and Norwich City has got a very good fee from Celtic for the player, The Canaries’ sporting director, Ben Knapper, has reacted to the record-breaking deal.

Adam Idah’s ‘great opportunity’ at Celtic

Norwich held out for the best deal possible this summer and now that it is officially over the line, Knapper has hailed the transfer as a ‘great opportunity’ for Adam Idah.

Knapper said [Norwich City FC], “Adam leaves with our very best wishes. He has a great opportunity at Celtic to continue his progression.

“The academy staff have taken great pride in seeing Adam develop from a youth team player into the senior squad and going on to become a full international with the Republic of Ireland.

“So many people here played a part in his journey, and he and everyone should be really proud of that.

“Everyone at Norwich City wishes Adam the very best for the future.”

Celtic must now focus on other transfer targets

Now that this long-running transfer saga is over, Brendan Rodgers can now focus on strengthening other areas of the team.

It could be argued that Celtic still need another striker as the third-choice development player, but there is also a need to bring in a left-back, another winger, another central defender and, if Matt O’Riley does leave this summer, another quality midfielder.
