Jason Cundy makes outlandish Rangers prediction, Jamie O’Hara can only laugh

Jamie O’Hara could only laugh as Jason Cundy predicted Rangers are capable of going all the way and winning the Europa League in 2024-25.

The Gers will compete in UEFA’s secondary competition this campaign after losing to Dynamo Kyiv in their Champions League qualifier.Rangers made it to the final two years ago, where they lost on penalties to Eintracht Frankfurt, but O’Hara clearly does not see a repeat.

“They’re in the Europa League now… mind you, they have a chance of winning that,” Cundy said on talkSPORT Sports Bar [13 August, 10:13pm].

O’Hara could then be seen laughing, to which Cundy replied: “What are you laughing at?”Former Tottenham midfielder O’Hara simply responded: “Come on, mate.”

Rangers’ top priority is toppling Celtic

As nice as it would have been qualifying for the Champions League in its new, expanded guise, it was simply not to be.The players did not perform to a level we know they can over the 180 minutes, but this defeat all came down to one man – and it wasn’t a player. The Europa League does indeed present a more realistic pathway to success, even if that is a run into the knockout stages.

Gers fans love a European away day and there have been many memorable ones in this competition in recent years

.The prediction from Cundy may seem outlandish on the face of it, especially given the Gers’ shaky form to begin the 2024-25 season. However, they fell just short in 2022 and Philippe Clement will dream of repeating that run – or indeed bettering it.

Right now, though, the priority is on domestic matters. And if there is one ultimate aim for the season, it is clinching back to the Scottish title.Rangers made it to the final two years ago, where they lost on penalties to Eintracht Frankfurt, but O’Hara clearly does not see a repeat.

“They’re in the Europa League now… mind you, they have a chance of winning that,” Cundy said on talkSPORT Sports Bar [13 August, 10:13pm].

O’Hara could then be seen laughing, to which Cundy replied: “What are you laughing a

t?”
