Rangers are still looking to do business in the transfer market with just a few weeks of the window left.
Celtic – who are already a couple of points ahead after only two league games – are in the same boat, with £7m expected to be spent on Adam Idah this week.
Appearing on talkSPORT this morning, McCoist was asked by Jim White if Rangers could potentially win the title instead of Celtic ‘going on to romp it’.
Far from confident, McCoist said: “It certainly looks that way. It’s absolutely vital for Rangers to get something, a result against Dynamo Kyiv, to give them the opportunity to get into the Champions League.
“But at this moment in time, it breaks my heart saying it obviously, you can’t see other than that.”White continued: “It’s a huge job for Philippe Clement, he knows what he’s got himself into. James Bisgrove has left of course, the man at the top, the chief executive, is now in Saudi Arabia.”
McCoist interjected: “It’s just total disappointment at this moment in time. Looking at not playing your home games at home, having to go to Hampden and all that kind of stuff. It’s testing times for the Rangers fans.”The Rangers legend admits that it ‘breaks his heart’ to admit, however, the well-regarded football pundit insists it’s testing times for his former club as things stand.
