Breaking News:Philippe Clement to axe James Tavernier, three changes – Rangers predicted XI v Motherwell

Philippe Clement is expected to make three changes ahead of Rangers’ Scottish Premiership clash against Motherwell on Saturday (10 August).

James Tavernier, John Souttar and Scott Wright could all be sacrificed against the Steelmen, making way for Dujon Sterling, Robin Propper and Jefte after a tough European game midweek.

The Gers claimed an all-important draw against Dynamo Kyiv in a Champions League qualification clash, with Vaclav Cerny and Cyriel Dessers teaming up for a last-gasp equaliser.

Connor Barron was the only new signing involved in the starting XI in Poland, though Jefte and Cerny played key roles in bringing home a draw ahead of a second leg.

Jack Butland is expected to continue in between the sticks, though his backline could see a couple of changes with Propper potentially handed his debut next to Leon Balogun [Derek Clark].

Although Tavernier is still the club captain, Sterling could start at right-back after coming on against Dynamo Kyiv as a substitute, with Ridvan Yilmaz on the opposite flank.

With few midfield options in the squad for Clement to choose from, Mohamed Diomande and Barron are expected to maintain their spots in the middle of the park, with Tom Lawrence ahead of them.

Despite being hooked on the hour mark, Ross McCausland should still be threatening down the right-hand side. Some may call for Cerny to start, but he has yet to adjust to life in Scotland yet.

Wright was trusted by the manager in the Champions League qualifier but was replaced by Jefte at half-time, who impressed throughout the second half, which could earn him a full debut against the Steelmen.

Dessers splits opinion. Danilo and Hamza Igamane are both options in attack, but having scored 22 goals last season and flying after the late equaliser on Tuesday, Clement will likely stick with him up front.

In other Rangers news, the Gers could seal the signing of Hannibal Mejbri with a permanent bid.
