Breaking News:How much Newcastle United are demanding for Martin Dubravka from non PIF clubs…
It is looking increasingly likely that Martin Dubravka will be Newcastle United’s first sale of 2025.
Due to financial constraints, Newcastle must sell before they buy this month and sporting director Paul Mitchell has wasted no time getting things underway.
Newcastle added two goalkeepers to their squad over the summer with Odysseas Vlachodimos and John Ruddy signed. As a result, Martin Dubravka was told he could leave.
The 35-year-old ended up staying put at St James’ Park and ironically has become Newcastle’s starting goalkeeper in recent weeks with Nick Pope out due to injury.
He has been in superb form during Newcastle’s six-game winning streak with Dubravka keeping four consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League.
Martin Dubravka set to leave Newcastle ‘imminently’
Dubravka is expected to start against Arsenal during Tuesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final clash in North London.
However, Dubravka’s last game could be against Arsenal as reports suggest a move to the Saudi Pro League is now “imminent”. He is expected to seal a move after Tuesday’s cup clash.
Dubravka has agreed terms with Al-Shabab and is expected to complete a move quickly with all parties in complete agreement.
Club chiefs are already on the lookout for a new goalkeeper with James Trafford linked to Newcastle after heavy interest from the Magpies over the summer.
Liverpool star Caoimhin Kelleher is an alternative target for Newcastle, but he is also on the radar of Premier League rivals Chelsea.
How much Newcastle United will earn from Martin Dubravka sale
PSR continues to dictate Newcastle’s transfer business but selling Martin Dubravka this month will add some much-needed cash into the club accounts.
However, while some reports have mentioned an £8million fee for the experienced goalkeeper, journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed the final figure is slightly less.
Speaking on the Fully Loaded Transfer Show, Jacobs said: “I think it’s $8million – not pounds – so it’s between £5-6million if we do the conversion.
“Part of that is because the player and the contractual situation and part of it is because you’re not dealing with a PIF club.
“What you find with the likes of Al-Shabab and Al-Ettifaq – Steven Gerrard’s club – they struggle to get as big of a budget. So this isn’t going to be a break-the-bank kind of deal but it is one that suits all parties.
“If you get £5-6m for Dubravka, you’re already a third of the way to a fee for a younger goalkeeper like James Trafford.”
