Breaking News:Rangers blasted over paperwork revelation after what Philippe Clement said in Poland
Derek Ferguson has slammed Philippe Clement after suggesting Robin Propper isn’t “fresh” to start for Rangers after signing.
The Gers boss suggested, transcribed by Rangers Review (6 August), that the Dutchman didn’t start against Dynamo Kyvic due to tiredness.
Reasons such as travelling and signing papers have been cited but former Light Blues midfielder Ferguson has slammed these excuses.
Speaking on BBC Sportsound on Tuesday (6 August), he said: “The centre-back Propper was signed last week has had a pre-season, so you’d expect him to go in.
“There’s a couple of excuses put out there in terms of paperwork and his family. I don’t buy that, to be honest. I would like to have seen the new signings in the squad.
Robin Propper benched for Rangers again
The 30-year-old completed a move to Ibrox on 1 August after captaining FC Twente to third in the Eredivisie last season.
With that being said, it is clear that the centre-back has plenty of quality and experience to add to Clement’s squad moving forward.
That begs the question why is it taking so long for Propper to start for Rangers?
The Dutchman missed out against Hearts and was left on the bench for the important Champions League qualifier against Dynamo Kyiv.
In these sorts of games, you want your best players starting and there is a call to say that the former Heracles man is better than what the Gers have already.
Despite this, the Rangers boss is using bizarre excuses such as paperwork to suggest why his star defender signing is being benched.
If there is a fitness issue affecting the defender, supporters would rather know than potentially be lied to with travelling being a reason.
In other Rangers news, Clement risks missing the boat on a transfer for a prolific goalscorer who could be an upgrade on Dessers.
