Breaking News:Robin Propper update emerges ahead of Rangers showdown v Dynamo Kyiv

Robin Propper has travelled with the Rangers squad for the clash with Dynamo Kyiv and is in Philippe Clement’s squad, according to David Edgar.

The Heart and Hand host reported via X on Tuesday (6 August) that the Light Blues’ latest signing who arrived for a reported £million from Utrecht could be in line to make his debut in the Champions League qualifier.

Clement’s side face the Ukrainian outfit in Polan on Tuesday (6 August) as they look to pick up a result to bring a result back to Glasgow ahead of the second leg at Hampden Park.

Writing on X, Edgar said: “Had a few questions about this so just to clear it up – Robin Propper did travel and is in the squad.”

Will Robin Propper play for Rangers v Dynamo Kyiv?

While the fact that Propper is available for selection will come as good news to supporters, there has been nothing from Clement so far to suggest the Belgian will throw the defender straight into the starting XI.

Following the clash with Hearts at Tynecastle, the Gers boss suggested that he wasn’t able to name a player in his squad who hadn’t yet even trained with his new teammates.

While Propper will have likely completed a couple of sessions with his new teammates ahead of Tuesday night’s showdown, it would be a risk to throw him straight into the XI for such an important game.

Clement does need to make one or two changes to his backline following Ben Davies’ poor display against Hearts, but it feels more likely that Leon Balogun will be given the nod to slot in alongside John Souttar at the back.

Hopefully, no matter who starts in Poland, the Light Blues will find a way to at least keep the tie alive heading into the second leg at Hampden Park next week.
