Liverpool are edging closer to the start of their new era under head coach Arne Slot. The Reds have been working with Slot throughout pre-season training which has included a tour of the United States.

August 17 will mark the first competitive fixture that Slot will take charge of as Liverpool’s new head coach following the departure of Jurgen Klopp. The Reds will travel to face newly-promoted Ipswich Town at Portman Road before hosting Brentford at Anfield a week later.

Away from the football on the pitch, Liverpool are continuing to be linked with a host of potential new signings. There have also been rumours about players who could leave Anfield this summer before the transfer window closes on September 2. The ECHO has put together a round-up of the latest Liverpool news to make headlines over the last 24 hours.

Joe Gomez has sent a message amid continued uncertainty about his future at Liverpool. The Reds centre-back was the subject of a £45 million deal with Newcastle United back in June before the move fell through.

Gomez continues to be linked with a move away from Anfield and recently returned to the AXA Training Centre for pre-season training. The centre-back posted a message on Instagram offering a hint to his plans for the summer.

On Instagram, Gomez posted a series of photos of himself at the ACA Training Centre. In the caption, the defender wrote: “Szn 10” which is a reference to his 10th year since signing for Liverpool from Charlton Athletic back in 2015.

Former Liverpool attacking midfielder Mateusz Musialowski has now signed for a new club after leaving Anfield.

It was confirmed on Monday that Musialowski has signed for Omonoia FC in Cyprus. The move comes after the 20-year-old left Anfield in the summer when his contract expired.

Musialowski had been with Liverpool for four years before his exit, where he made just one appearance for the first team under former manager Jurgen Klopp. Musialowski finished his career at Anfield by scoring six goals across 13 appearances for Liverpool’s Under-21s last term.
