Rangers will want to sell Cyriel Dessers in January and sign a new striker for Philippe Clement, Robbie Copeland says.
The Daily Record journalist wrote in the news outlet [24 December] that the Gers will hope to get a decent offer for the Nigeria international in the upcoming transfer window and replace him with a more reliable number nine.
In recent weeks, the Light Blues have been told to get rid of the 30-year-old, and Clement would be happy to have a new striker in the coming month, even if on loan.
Dessers has been linked with a move to Saint-Etienne, and the Ligue 1 outfit have the Nigerian on their radar ahead of January [Le10sport, 18 December].

After being dropped from the starting lineup, the 30-year-old has found game time hard to come by at Ibrox in recent weeks.
Clement has preferred other options over the former Cremonese striker, who has started on the bench in the last four Scottish Premiership fixtures.
Hamza Igamane has emerged as the go-to number nine for the Belgian manager, and the Moroccan hasn’t disappointed.
Rangers can also rely on Danilo after his return from injury, and the Brazilian contributed with an assist in the 1-0 win over Dundee on 21 December, setting up Vaclav Cerny on the counter.
