GOOD NEWS FANS: Rangers have finally sign they dream player LAWRENCE SHANKLAND….

It led to concern among some Jambos fans who are worried about losing the Scotland striker in the upcoming January transfer window,.

One such supporter remarked: “Saw that Shankland liked a photo of Rangers lifting the cup. Know he’s a fan but I’d be interested to hear your take on that.

“He’s the captain of our team and therefore just doesn’t sit right with me. Particularly with so much linking him to them.”

For the man himself however, he insists the persistent mentions of him potentially being on the move are simply a demonstration of the fact he’s playing well at the moment.

He said: “It’s a sign you’re doing well when there’s speculation, that’s what I take from that.

“It’s always been the case throughout my career, there’s always been speculation flying about. It’s a sign I’m doing my job well and scoring goals.

“That’s all I focus on, doing my job for Hearts and doing it well.”

Shankland, 28, scored the opener for Hearts at the weekend as they beat Celtic 2-0 at Parkhead.

The striker opened up on the goal and said the fact it helped his team to win the game was what made it more special.

Shankland has scored against Celtic before, once in a previous meeting this season and he even bagged a hat-trick against the Hoops last year.

But this time his strike wasn’t in vein, and it marked the first time the Edinburgh side had beaten the Hoops in Glasgow on league duty since 2007.

Shankland said: “I was just focused on hitting the target. When you find yourself a bit free it’s just about hitting the target.

“It’s always better when you’re winning. That makes it more special.

“The boys can be proud of that performance. It’s been a real long time since Hearts came (to Celtic Park) and won. You need to enjoy those moments and we deserved to enjoy it.”

When Hearts and Rangers met at Tynecastle a couple of weeks ago, fans noticed a ‘special hug’ between Ibrox boss Philippe Clement and Shankland after the conclusion of the game.
