David Moyes Returns | The Perfect Man For The Job

David Moyes Returns | The Perfect Man For The Job

Remember November 2017? West Ham United were deep in the mire. Slaven Bilic had been fired and the club sat perilously inside the relegation zone. The move to London Stadium have caused huge unrest amongst the fan base with moaning and  scuffles breaking out between ‘old’ generation fans and ‘new’ ticket holders all of whom were frustrated at the poor view, the sitting /standing/ stewarding arrangements and the clubs terrible form.

Into this arena strode ‘The moyesiah’ – David Moyes, tasked with saving West Ham from the disaster of relegation. Six months later, he left, with a record of 31 games played, nine wins and ten draws amongst them.

West Ham finished safely, thanks to Moyes, nine points clear of the drop zone.

Well now it seem he is going to be asked to repeat the same miracle. For Southampton. Returning to the Premier League after a six month break following his departure from London Stadium at the end of last season.

According to London World The Scotosaurus is a frontrunner to take over at St Marys and try to keep the Saints in the Premier League. Compared with other managing options,:” he is without a club, Moyes does not have the stumbling block of a release clause and has plenty of experience in the Premier League”

And good luck to him, it is a marriage made in football heaven between the dour Scot and his defensive ‘survivalist’ football and a club desperate for points.

As long as he isn’t in situ before West Ham’s Boxing Day visit, we wish him and Southampton just enough success to finish 17th!

West Ham midfielder Guido Rodríguez could leave in January following a decision by Hammers head coach Julen Lopetegui to use him less.

The Argentinian midfielder is reportedly unhappy at the London Stadium, struggling to adjust to the fast pace of the Premier League.
